Schumacher Mi9 LCG

$200.00

Gain a decisive competitive edge on low-grip surfaces with the Schumacher Mi9 LCG, an off-road buggy engineered specifically to maximize traction and stability where other cars struggle. Its low center of gravity chassis design translates directly into faster corner speeds and more predictable handling, giving drivers the confidence to push harder lap after lap. At $200.00, the Mi9 LCG delivers race-proven performance that makes every detail of its precision engineering worth exploring further.

Description

We set out on this project sometime ago and after serious testing and tweaking, its time for the release.

Looking to take performance to the next level we believe this kit does exactly that. Lowering the CG was our prime focus. This is not a complete package, you will need to outsource various parts from a couple other kits but we will list them at the end.

We changed the chassis from the standard 2mm aluminum to a thinner 1.8mm 7075-T6 Alloy. Tuning our theories for flex we went with a design used on some cars at the Worlds.

We wanted to convert to a single bellcrank steering system like other cars use. Doing this we decided to use the servo/bellcrank mount from Destiny. This was to allow for unrestricted flex and tuning for the front. You will need the Schumacher FT8 alloy bellcrank and a steering post from one of their 4wd cars. All part numbers are listed below for these pieces.

Also for chassis hardware we chose to use the small head screws from KM Motorsports. This was a choice for weight and strength.

The next big thing was the sway bar options. Drivers over time have had a problem of bending front sway bars. Most of these came from carpet racing and the tighter tracks with hard pipes. Again we found the Destiny car had the pieces to maximize the low CG and bar options. Now the sway bars are mounted to the chassis and under the arms further lowering the CG and solving the bent bar possibilities.

While Destiny only offers a 1.2 bar as their thinnest we have been able to use Mugen MTC2 bars. These do require a small amount of bending to match the Destinys but it opens the options up. You can use bars from 1.0-1.2 from Mugen. Just a small bend to the ends and you can match the Destiny ones.

Doing this mod for the sway bars allowed us to add another benefit. We designed the arms to use shock mount pieces from the Arc A10 and mount them under the arm. Doing this we were able to lower all four shocks 4mm more and retain the kit dampening. The kit will come with a new front shock tower as well as a new rear shock tower. The rear tower also will allow for drivers to use horizontal body posts if chosen. If you prefer the kit verticals then you can still use the kit camber plates in the rear with no interference.

If you only want to use the single bellcrank steering you will be able to still use your kit suspension arms, bulkhead sway bars and kit shock towers. All stock suspension arms and our modified ones will bolt up to the factory locations. We did not modify the mounting locations for those. If you want to use the chassis mounted sway bars then you will have to retain all the suspension pieces and use our shock towers and arms for the full benefit.
