Description
With Improved Flex characteristics designed around the center of the car to aid in corner speed. Tested on both Black CRC Carpet and Asphalt we have seen the same results, Improved lap times and cooler motor temps from less work.
By allowing the motor pod to ‘float’ in the center of the chassis we found the front and rear to provide more consistent traction. The most noticeable was in corner speeds, smoother transitions with out that twitchy feel of traction sacrifices. By allowing the chassis to flow smoother through corners we felt the motor was able to stay up closer to its power range. No low end drag slowing the motor down or straining it with amp draw on exits.
Benefits:
Mid Motor Chassis
7075-T6 Aluminum Alloy – Raw Aluminum
3mm Narrower – allow for lower ride height and less chassis edge rub
3D Printed Battery Brackets Included
Rear Split Blocks Capable – designed to allow rear split blocks for tuning rear traction
Mid Shorty Pack Mounting – forward/middle/rearward – better balancing options
Able to swap servo to right side and move ESC forward – need to use shorty low profile servo and shorty pack
Note: When swapping servo over to Right Hand side – You may need to file the servo mount for front belt clearance.
2.5mm Carbon Fiber T-plate for the rear section – can be used as tuning tool to dial in chassis flex by tightening it up for minimal flex to max flex.
Surface Finish: Due to being raw aluminum the appearance is of brushed aluminum. It can be powder coated, anodized or polished. We do not have the ability to anodize so that would have to be through a different source.
Comes with:
4mm Carbon Fiber battery holders
2.5mm Carbon Fiber T-plate for the rear section
Special Note:
Use all screws in mounting motor/spur pod.
When adjusting belt tensions we have found running them a little looser to be beneficial. Roughly about 3mm of belt flex minimum is a good starting point.
We have not experienced any premature belt wear or slippage when running them this loose.
Ideally when pod and belts installed and viewed from the side edge you want the pod tongue to be flush with chassis bottom. This will allow the flex to stay centered virtually at the motor with out effecting opposite ends.
The included T-plate can be mounted directly to the chassis in the existing chassis holes. T
his can be used to ‘tune’ the effects of the floating pod. Whether its direct to the chassis or raised .5mm with shims you can alter the way the flex transitions rearwards.
No T-plate = Max flex for Low to Med bite, best overall Tplate to tongue and chassis –
Low to Med bite wanting little more front bite Tplate to tongue and side ears –
Med to High bite looking for more rear bite on exits
